Biography
Jason Thompson joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in January 2016 as Billy Abbott, following a celebrated run as Dr. Patrick Drake on General Hospital beginning in 2005.
Born in St. Albert, Canada, Jason began his career in modeling and commercials before transitioning into acting. He has earned eight Daytime Emmy nominations, winning in 2020 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Y&R. He received additional nominations in the Lead Actor category in 2022 and 2023.
Outside of acting, Jason is a co-founder of Rancho West, a USDA Certified Organic beer company based in Malibu, California. In his hometown of Edmonton, he is also a partner in the acclaimed gastro pubs Redstar and The Bower, as well as the café Lock Stock.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Paloma, and their two children, Bowie and Rome.
